Slow Sunday Stitching

Yesterday, for a day of Pomp and Circumstance....

I had a few stitched keepsakes in honor of the day that are now ready for finishing!

Lovely stitching.

I watched the coronation also. I spent the time knitting. Nice to meet a fellow New Yorker.

There is nothing quite like the pomp and ceremony of a grand British occasion, is there. I think the world tuned in. Sweet little memento you stitched.

We watched from New Zealand, different timezones of course so stayed up dutifully till 2.00am. Noone does pomp and ceremony like the Brits. Your little cross stitch is a lovely reminder of this momentous day.

Oh how fun that you made handstitched commemorative keepsakes of the coronation! I’ll bet there’s a long tradition of needlework along those lines housed in the Victoria & Albert museum in London. I didn’t tune in to watch the coronation live but I enjoyed listening to a BBC History podcast about it while I was quilting.
